Kalima Horra, a Bi-weekly show, featuring a studio panel of experts together with satellite/internet links to high-profile speakers around the globe, continued as the flagship current affairs TV talk show for Al-Mayadeen TV, an independent and international news network based in Beirut, Lebanon.

Translated as “Free Word,” Kalima Horra is hosted by George Galloway, who commences each episode with an insightful prelude addressing the most pressing global issues.

Kalima Horra was initiated with a live studio audience from the beginning but with the onset of the Covid lockdown restrictions, bringing the audience into the studio became impractical. Consequently, starting in April 2020, the format of the show transitioned into a roundtable debate featuring three experts in the studio and connected via satellite/internet links with additional speakers from around the globe. We also needed to consider all the lockdown safety codes restricting the number of speakers in the studio and seating at a proper distance as allowed. This adaptation allowed Kalima Horra to continue its mission of fostering meaningful discussions amid challenging circumstances. However, it can be considered a completely different show in terms of production, preparation, and other logistics.
